Kampong Cham Announces Schools Reopening Dates

Kampong Cham: Kampong Cham Provincial Governor, Un Chanda, has announced the reopening dates of secondary and primary levels in the province. This was following the coordination with the Ministry of Education’s decision to slowly reopen schools located in areas with low infection rates Covid-19. This is also in accordance to Prime Minister Hun Sen’s advice of reopening those schools as prolonging the closure may jeopardize the children’s future.

Governor Chanda has decided to open the secondary level on 20 September and for primary level on 11 October. He says the decision was made after sitting down with relevant officials on Friday morning, evaluating the situation in the province. He has added that they made the reopening into two stages, prioritizing the students in the secondary level, followed by the younger ones. The governor has stressed that areas with many cases of Covid-19 will not be allowed to reopen.
